Naira abuse: August 5 is when Bobrisky will be freed

Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, is a controversial transvestite who has spent months behind bars for misusing Naira currency. On August 5, 2024, he is scheduled to be released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

On Tuesday, a reliable prison insider verified the development.

Because he is not allowed to speak publicly, the prison insider who wished to remain anonymous informed the publication that “Bobrisky will be released on Monday, August 5.”

The events leading up to the publishing was also verified by Bobrisky’s attorney, Ayo Olumofin, who represented him in court.

Indeed, it is almost time for him to be let free. Nothing particular would be done in the event of his release. I may decide not to go. I got engaged away from Lagos. Perhaps additional attorneys will accompany them. I am not his first attorney, as I previously stated. He remarked, “I just performed allocution for him.

On April 5, 2024, Bobrisky was charged with four counts of abusing Naira, which were brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Judge Abimbola Awogboro of the federal supreme court condemned him to six months in prison on April 12, 2024, without the possibility of a fine.
