JAMB Sends Important Message To 2024 DE Applicants On Change Of Institution, course

FCT, Abuja – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the start of a change of institution/course for 2024 Direct Entry (DE) candidates. The examination board stated that the service for changing institution/course is now accessible to interested applicants.

JAMB speaks on converting UTME to DE. In a similar event, stated that JAMB provided an update on the changeover of UTME to DE. The board stated that it will publish the start date for the UTME to DE conversion as soon as it begins the process. The testing authority told applicants that the UTME to DE conversion process had not yet begun.

Tinubu Receives New Request From NLC Amid Negotiations for New Minimum Wage

During the negotiations for a new national minimum wage, Comrade Joe Ajaero, president of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), has asked for a return to the previous pension system regime.

Ajaero said that the current administration, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, failed to achieve the core goal for which it was established.

The NLC president addressed at the 2024 National Pre-retirement Summit on the topic of “Challenges, Strategies, Prospects, and Opportunities at Retirement in Nigeria”. According to The Nation, the programme was organized by XEM, Africa’s global opportunity and capacity development hub. Ajaero emphasized that retirement should not be viewed as a death sentence, but rather as something that all employees should look forward to.

According to him, the federal government is presently reported to owe about N260 billion in pension arrears, with federal parastatals responsible for another N40 billion. To back up his position, Ajaero stated that many employees are concerned about what would happen to them after retirement because it does not provide security, according to Daily Trust.

TUC demands on a minimum salary of N250,000. Earlier, Legit.ng reported that organised labour maintained on maintaining its demand for a minimum salary of N250,000 for workers in the country. The TUC president, Festus Osifo, made the announcement at a gathering in Abuja on Tuesday, July 9, while providing an update on the new minimum wage discussion. Osifo stated that the proposed minimum wage was never abandoned, and that the unions just allowed President Bola Tinubu to conduct consultations as asked.
